I could engage socially as I chose and participate in the community on my own terms, knowing that my health and safety were a priority for River's Edge staff. I wasn't disappointed! I found that I didn't have to sacrifice my independence at all. My daughter and son-in-law convinced me that it would be in my best interest to move out of the home (where I lived alone) into a community with supportive services and other independent residents like me. The decision to make this move wasn't easy for a person like me who is independent, almost to a fault. I suffered major health issues in 2020 which resulted in me selling my home and moving into River's Edge Independent Living Community, October 2021.
